For the first time in Harlan Health and Rehab’s history, the residents and staff directed and presented their first Christmas play: The Bible Story. Resident Joann Childers directed the play, which featured costumes for all of the actors involved. As an employee read from Luke Chapter 2, the birth of Jesus, as the actors reenacted the Nativity scene.

Gail Hensley, the facility’s Administrator, performed several Christmas songs while the piano was being played. It was such a beautiful sight to behold and it concluded with applause throughout the whole building. Afterward, Santa Claus came by and met with staff and residents and went room to room and delivered lots of toys and goodies. The visit from Ol’ Kris Kringle was a welcomed sight and put everyone in the holiday spirit.

The joyous event was a wonderful culmination of 2017 and serves to inspire Harlan HRC to continue growing close to each other and building on the successful reputation the facility holds.
