Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Center resident, Tom Napier, already has his Christmas spirit on full display. For the facility’s Christmas decorations, Napier built the stable for the Nativity scene so staff and residents and any passerby can gawk at the exhibit. Much like Joseph and Jesus himself, Napier loves to participate in the carpentry trade.

Christmas is always a special time in Harlan as the city becomes very festive at the beginning of December.  On Thursday, Harlan County Christian School presents their annual Christmas lights display and on Friday, the “Frosty” themed Tri-City Christmas Parade takes place. Christmas at The Center is in full-swing with vendors and Santa Claus in attendance this Saturday. Plus, a Happy Birthday Jesus celebration breakfast and the Festival of Trees at the Kentucky Coal Museum all take place on Saturday as well.

There’s nothing like Christmas in Harlan.
